Act one: the bistro table
Enter the glass, the plate and the conversation.
In the federal business register, the house is filed as a place whose main trade is pouring drinks, with entertainment alongside. The owners added the word bistro to the name, and that word sets the table: the glass comes with bistro cooking, for anyone who wants an unhurried dinner or just something to pick at between toasts.
No menu or price list is posted at this address. What the kitchen and the bar have on a given night is told by the staff, in person, at the table.
- To drinkthe heart of the house's filing
- To eatbistro plates beside the glass
- To staya table, talk and the stage in view
Act two: when the spotlight comes on
The light changes colour and the dining room turns into an audience.
What sets this place apart from an ordinary bar is what the register itself calls entertainment. On some nights the little stage hosts a performance: music, or another act that fits a small platform. The line-up changes and is not announced here; anyone curious about what is coming asks by the email or phone number given backstage.
We do not promise a headliner, a performer, a fixed night or a running time. We promise only what the drawing shows: a stage built inside a bistro, waiting for whoever steps onto it.
Act three: the room, booked
Up goes the little sign for a private evening.
Beyond the usual comings and goings, the whole room can be arranged for one gathering: a birthday, a team celebration, a night with music chosen by the host. Each request is discussed on its own, because every group arrives with a script of its own.
To open the conversation, send the date you have in mind, a rough head count and the kind of occasion. The reply comes from someone at the house, not from an automated system.
Backstage: how to reach the house
Behind the curtain, the shortest route to whoever decides.
Questions about an evening, booking requests and any other message travel by two routes. The street address is Rua João de Santana, 358, in Chácara Santana.
Alcohol is served only to guests aged 18 or over. Staff may ask for photo ID before the first round.
Interval: what this programme leaves out
While the curtain is down, the list of things this page does not carry.
- Menu and prices: they follow the kitchen and are given at the table.
- Performance schedule: the house tells whoever asks.
- Opening hours: check by phone before you set out.
- Names of performers or guests: none are listed here.
- Photos of the room: the stage drawing is an illustration, not a portrait.
- Online sales: no food or drink is ordered through this page.
Notes from the stage manager
Four questions that tend to arrive before a first visit.
- How do I know whether a given night has a performance?
- Ask by email or phone; whoever answers will say what is planned for that date.
- How do I ask for a quote for a private event?
- Send the date you want, a rough number of guests and the kind of celebration. The house replies with what can be done.
- Who may drink at the house?
- Only adults aged 18 or over, with ID whenever staff ask for it.
- Where is the house?
- At Rua João de Santana, 358, Chácara Santana, in the south of São Paulo.
