The business is held in a single owner's name rather than as a partnership or a company with shareholders, which is how Brazilian records list it. The people who write here are the same ones who set the tables, book the musicians and lock up at the end of the night.

Why in English

The notes are written for grown readers in the United States who like a little music with their evenings, which is why they are in English while the bistro's own site opens in Portuguese.

How the lights stay on

Down the road, a page here might send readers to an American web store, and a purchase made through that particular link could earn the bistro a percentage of the sale. As of today, no page in this notebook carries a purchase link of any kind. If that changes, the page where it happens will say so plainly.
